Title: FFS Caps: Pot funding sale: 11pm EST, Monday Mar.6!
Post by: Halverson on Mon, 27 February 2017, 00:52:58: Me and Youngmichael want to buy a new pressure pot(a safe one) so we can produce more caps. Especially alps and BS and topre!

These are all of our prototype caps we want to sell to fund new endeavors. Any extra funds will be used to purchase new resin and silicone.

Profiles for the mx are sort of unique I believe, future will probably be cherry profile. Alps is a random alps top row cap, in the future I'll choose a more popular cap profile to replicate(and thiccen). MX CAPS just slightly don't go all the way down on LEDs!!! Bottoms are too thicc.

I believe the prices will be $15 per cap and $10 for the ones with bigger defects. Shipping will be in a bubble mailer from Canada. Within NA untracked shipping will be $5, tracked will $15. Overseas will be $15 and to get tracking is impossible cause it won't be worth it(about $40+).

All prices are in USD!

In the pictures you'll see Buckling Spring, ALPs(sadly in certain light you can see "f4" due to the original molded cap), and cherry MX. The last picture shows the caps with the most defects. Some have silicone inside the cap, some have holes, one has a small dent on top in the corner.

Due to a promise from last summer, the mint buckling spring and alps caps are spoken for, sorry for any inconvenience.

Halverson would possibly know more about that one. We won't necessarily be using these same caps for our moulds in the future. We do like to modify and combine elements from different areas across various caps and profiles to create unique moulds that we can call our own. That's what we did with the MX cap we have created, but as you may have heard, it still requires some modification to be compatible with LEDs. With that said, do any of you have preference as far as alps caps go? Be it a texture, gloss, etc?

Oh definitely! I hope to focus more on topre/alps/BS! Blanks and more than 1x caps, planning on trying bigger sized caps. MX will be probably be where we do more designs and such at some point, sculpting?

As Halverson said, MX will be our vehicle for experimentation and just as we are doing right now, those experiments will be passed on to you in future sales. It's hard to time the sales for everyone. We figured 11pm EST would be best for all the people in time zones where it would be 8pm and still not too late for EST

Ahhh sorry about that. I figured there would be more interest in NA because shipping costs.

So as far as shipping went, in the end I was just shy a couple dollars after currency conversion. Untracked was slightly more than I thought, Canada was quite a bit more than I thought, and tracked was slightly cheaper than thought. All variances are $1-$2 so it's not bad in the end. Sadly that does leave me in the hole for shipping if I account bubble mailer cost.

Future shipping will be:
Tracked USA-$13
Untracked USA-$7
Canada-$8.50(has tracking, didn't see a cheaper option)

Also! Please folks, buy some leftovers! We are so close to having enough for the pot!
