Title: Cherry G80-3000 vs Cherry G84-4100 (ML4100)
Post by: sec908 on Sat, 06 February 2010, 08:24:21
Hi!, I've a G84-4100 but this has the keys very smalls. I'm thinking change my actual keyboard to the G80-3000 but I think that this keyboard is very big (G80-3000 47cmx19cm) vs (g84-4100 28cmx13cm).

I find a keyboard good for coding (i'm developer) not gaming and my actual g84-4100 (ML4100) not is confortable but when i type on it, the key touch and sound (click click) is nice but keys as "enter, backspace, space alt gr, alt, windows, control, insert, del, ´ , [], {}" the keys are close together.

Do you think i should change my actual keyboard to the G80-3000? I've little space in my desktop.

I think you should change you keyboard to a Filco Tenkeyless with the switch you like.  Since saving space is one of your top priorities, I would *not* recommend a G80-3000.  The G84s you already have are about as small as mechanical boards can get.  Anything else will be bigger.  The G80-3000 is full-size, as in "really huge".

On that note, Filco needs to make a tenkeyless board with US International ANSI layout and numpad overlay.  Filco's JIS bottom row has a usefully sized spacebar for Western languages, plus enough keys for Fn and Alt Gr.  May as well add some media keys as Fn alternates to the F-key row too.  Any bets if such a beast will ever be made?
