i was curious about the colemak layout... what would it would look like in a mini layout with split space bar & symmetrical staggering.
for your amusement:

there was a blank spot in the middle which seems pretty hard to hit, so... caps lock :)

Interesting.
I'd probably swap the space to the left thumb. But then again I don't mind using it with th right.
"Hyper Space"...what's that for, Ludicrous Speed?

Good design. The symmetric stagger makes all the difference.
I would probably toy with the idea of having Backspace were the FN key is, like on the Alps Glidepoint boards and the M15's - and would have to add Command keys for Macs.

Welcome after, friend! ;)

As for the split space bar, I'd go with Enter to the left, Space to the right and probably mouse buttons for the trackpoint in the middle (or something).

i love how small and rectangular it is.
is that single key in the middle of the bottom row for the space?

Xuan: You're probably right. Looks better, too.
Matt: Nice. I had a trackpoint in my image, but you've cleared room for the buttons too. I guess I can fit in my 'Ø' letter somewhere else, heh; actually, that'd probably be where you have your CapsLock. Or there could be normal-sized '5' and '6' keys and one key between them.
