I just ordered a Leopold FC750R from mechanicalkeyboard with Navy PBT keycaps for $114. I seem to recall seeing them for around $170 before. Do you think this is some kind of cheaper revision of the keyboard? Or am I wrong about the price drop?

It looks like they're at least $170 everywhere other than mechanicalkeyboards.com

I never recall it being as high as $170, maybe because of different country. The price does drop though, they can't sell at higher price because the competitor has more attractive feature to majority like rgb. Rather than Leopold, I'd get the IKBC MF-87 for ~$30 more at MD, it got aluminium case which is nice for that price.

One thing being a lover of Leopold is that the new 750r with the blue and black box isn't as nice as the old ones. Space bar has rattle on the few I've tried where on the old versions is was tight as hell.

I ordered one when they first were available from mechanicalkeyboards.com for around that price. The switch types sometimes led to a 5-10 dollar difference but it has always been in that price range on that site. Sellers like widebasket however have always had it up there pricewise.

MK.com is the licensed importer for them in the US, AFAIK. I would bet that gets them a better wholesale price.

This is indeed the case.
