tl;dr: It's an amazing keyboard for $30. It only makes two compromises: it doesn't have case pads at the rear and its switches are "meh." I think it merited a 10/10 in terms of value -- it's much less chintzy looking than other offerings in its price bracket.

In some ways it almost certainly is. In other ways (particularly its switches) it isn't at all. That's a subjective statement, though.
The build quality on the TKL01 will rival the v2. It's remarkably solid. Its keycaps are comparatively thick as well. Backlighting is take it or leave it for many people, but it has that feature. -shrugs-
