I’ve got some great feedback from the community. And I’d like to add a few things to the prototype.
1. The weight is not polished for the prototype, but will be for GB;

4. ISO comptibility check;
5. For GB we will provide as many color as possible. Different colors can be ordered for top and bottom cases as long as the MOQ for each color for either case is meet. The GB will also be available in China so most likely you’ll be fine;

Chinese GB has concluded for ordering earlier this week. EVE (the designer and the manufacturer) confirmed there will be a GH GB around mid May. I'll update more information in terms of Logo, USB hole and weight change, as well as more info about the PCB. Stay tuned! :p
09-MAY-2017 Update 4:
A few updates referring to issues listed from previous updates:
-There will be indents for rubber feet, it will be round ones rather than rectangle, you know, like the shape of moon
-PCB will be custom designed and still pending info from the designer
-Plate definitely supports ISO, PCB-wise to be confirmed
-Different color options will be proposed for top case, bot case and plate. There will be four different colors for every part mentioned. I've asked for a list of color demo, will update once I got that
-USB hole design has been finalized, located on right side of the bot case. (CLOSELY) See link: http://imgur.com/flXYMaq
-You probably noticed that logo has also been modified from the link above, that is final
-Bottom weight will not be changed so it will remain as it was: http://imgur.com/W5SZEtn

Yeah, I think the logo is great. I used to think logos added unnecessary clutter, but with all the custom boards nowadays I prefer them for easy identification, but only if they're tastefully done.
This logo is bretty gud, thankfully.

True. There are just too many TKL look quite similar to each other from the top. Although Moon is quite unique in terms of design, it's still a good idea to put up a logo/branding.

TBH they did do a great job with the design of the logo, I just more prefer my KBs to be unbranded. So it's more of personal preference thing than anything against the logo itself.

Please do a dark/space grey color. Would be really nice, especially with the moon theme. I personally like the logo very much, it fits the board nicely and makes an otherwise plain side look sleek, but not cluttered.

I was full well aware of the sale & what time it started today, but due to a very messed up & unfortunate event I had no control over I have no extra funds for my hobbies right now. So I had to flat out pass on an opportunity to get some of the KB kits & key cap sets that I most desire this morning. :'( This one is definitely gonna sting for awhile...
On the flip side though, since I wasn't able to join in on the MD sale today that does open up future purchases & this KB does look promising. I'm sure it'll be a little pricey but as long as I have the funds to spare when it goes live, I'll be able to justify it for such a great looking board! :thumb:

We don't have a price set at this point of time. But I'm assuming it will be slightly cheaper than Mira SE. Reason being a) this should be pretty straight forward as it's designed and manufactured by same person. b) EVE has his own experience in CAD, making render and anodizing. Therefore he could lower the cost and shorten the GB cycle by using his resources. Which in turn brings cost down.
I'll let you guys know as soon as I have a price range in mind. I know it probably is the only factor that separates people from those dank keeb stuffs.

Came in here to say this, a cosmic purple, or the midnight hue the sky takes would be gorgeous, and very fitting with the theme.

I've noticed that too. If you look at the side view pic you'd probably notice that is where top and bottom case meet.. Therefore it might be a good idea to keep top case same color as the bottom. It sure kills a lot of fun to do that. We will keep looking for solutions.
Judging from the top plate, would there only be a winkeyless option? Would there potentially be a split shift layout? I like my function layers even on larger boards...

You’ve got some excellent points there.
The brass weight on the back is not polished and that is intentional as this is only a prototype.
The color is actually orange and black to match SA Carbon.
Yes, I’ll make sure to mention that indent, it helps a lot when you try to put the rubber feet on..
If anyone were to order same color for top and bottom cases. We will try our best to minimize the color difference. Normally they are not noticeable.

There’s no USB hole on this prototype.. as we were still debating where to put this USB hole.
At this moment we agree to put the USB hole at the bottom right of the back of the keyboard (where the two stripes and the logo are)
Edit: PCB will probably be from the designer of ZZ96

Any chance the PCB used could be the TX87? (if it's the same price).
My reasoning for this is most of the recent customs (Mira, Dolphin, TX87, etc.) are using the same TX87 PCB, so if anything it might be easier to find a replacement PCB in the future.
I can't wait for this group buy! The curves are just fantastic to look at!

Film was used for pics in this album. Ano shouldn't be an issue at all as they were finished at the same factory as Mira and Tank. Meanwhile I'll see if I can get some pics w/o film. :thumb:

I live in Canada and I feel you right there. The proxy service I use is pretty good (China - CA), I was never taxed (Knocking on wood). In fact I just submitted my order a few days back and they are on my way as we speak. They use either EMS or DHL depending on what you are shipping (nature and value of items, liquid/branded luxury items tend to go for EMS).
Also I have a friend in Belgium and he uses a different proxy (similar idea just different company) and he seems to be very satisfied with them too.

That is unbelievably good looking. Almost too good to be true, at a glance it still looks like a render, took some really close scrutiny before I was convinced it was real. Very excited for this, hope you release the colour options before the GB so that people can make their decisions.
For the GB itself, whats the limit on the number of kits, and have you decided if this is going to FCFS sale?

There’s no USB hole on this prototype.. as we were still debating where to put this USB hole.
At this moment we agree to put the USB hole at the bottom right of the back of the keyboard (where the two stripes and the logo are)
Edit: PCB will probably be from the designer of ZZ96
I think a few people missed him saying that the USB port will be on the bottom right, so I quoted it here! :)

The plate shown in the prototype allows for split backspace, so the PCB is likely to support it as well. Of course it has to be confirmed, but the plate definitely supports split backspace.

The Company in Portal is actually called Aperture Laboratories, only in the early 50's did they refer to themselves as Aperture Science Innovators, however, I didnt like the look of Aperture_Labs :P

Hmmm, last time I talked to EVE, he said the PCB will support underglow, but you certainly can turn it off.
I'm all for this. The black and orange is like a dream for me. It could only be better if in a compact 1800 layout, but I think this board works nicely in TKL. Really looking forward to this.

However, I don't know if there are other TKL with a brass plate. I think you could probably meet MOQ for them :) here's hoping!
Oh, I forgot to mention that I'd love a plate that lets you open switches as well, for a truly customized board. The TX-CP plate has the necessary notches for it and it's really nice.

Definitely check out the Rama M65-A polished brass plate, the photos look absolutely stunning and I guarantee you would have zero problems hitting MOQ.
I went in for it before we had the final photos and once he released the photos of it a ton of people regretted not getting a brass plate. It really is beautiful.

Brass plates tarnish within months, and then you realize you can't even polish it since you assembled over it.M65 is polished and electroplated, in theory I think it will prevent tarnishing.

There are plenty of other options, apply a film over it and cut out holes for switches. Then no oxidization on the exposed areas, just like people that apply 3M film or packing tape over the weights on 356 boards.

I mean, it could be machined... but the question is is it even worth it. The big limiting factor for 7075 in the case would probably be the associated cost in comparison to 6061. I would be willing to potentially pay the premium, but I'm not even sure its necessary for an item like this.

Never actually thought about 6063 to be honest. Definitely would have a nicer finish for sure... I suppose in that case it really depends on the finish that the designer is going for.

Yup what really drew me in besides the shape was that color of the prototype with the grey and orange to match SA Carbon my favorite set. If there's no Orange I will be extremely upset.

I agree - the bottom logo is a little OCD-inducing. It's good that at least it's the bottom, which one may rarely look at.

I'm not positive, but I believe the top surface of the case is is curved along it's entire height (from F row to space). Since the keys are on the same plane (pcb), some of the caps project beyond the case more than others. The F row is essentially inset into the case while the space row is almost floating like a low profile case.
I happen to really like the look as it's quite unique.

Thanks. From a design standpoint, the graceful curves of this kb really make it stand out. Then the giant bars kindof destroy the flow of the curve from that side. I'm great with a logo, and EVE should be proud of his/her creation. But those bars... :facepalm:

Actually we have a new logo now. It reflects elements from both the old logo and the later one. Find out soon...

I think I read somewhere in the thread that it will weigh roughly 3 to 4kg with the weight. I may be getting it confused with Skog though.
