My father works for a graphics company in an office with large cubicles. I've been showing him my keyboards and hes developed an interest but his main concern with purchasing one is disturbing his neighbors. Please send reccomendations that meet these requirements.
-Below 200 USD
-Somewhat quiet (Only slightly louder than a rubber dome)
-Heavy linear switch (Mx Black, Gateron black etc...)
-Numberpad (Nav cluster good but not needed.)
-Simple colors (No flashy bright colors)
-Sturdy feel, the keyboard is staying in one place so weight isn't an issue.
Right now I'm actually considering the Topre Type Heaven but I'm not sure if he would like the keyfeel and its pretty expensive to just test out.
The CM TK Stealth would be great but it only comes in reds for linear which is far too light for his taste. I only have so much experience with mechanical keyboards so I was hoping that some of you would possibly have a keyboard that meets most of these requirements. Thanks as usual! :thumb:

I can second the Leopold recommendation, great board.
You might also consider getting him either one of fohat.digs rubber pieces (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=59308.0) or some other dampening material to put between the keyboard and his desk.
This will dampen the sound a little more and give a firmer base so it won't slide.

If you want a cheap, quite daily driver have a look at Plum EC.
You have it as 75, 84, 87 and 108 keys forms, w/ or w/o RGB.
Imho, it's much better than MX board I've used and the coworkers are finally calm about my clacking. :D

Get a Topre and hypersphere and lube it. I brought my stock RealForce 87U 55g to work today and its still pretty loud. I daily drive a modded HHKB that is near silent and is really the only keyboard I feel comfortable using in an office setting.

Normally I'd recommend Topre Type Heaven for office but in your case this the Leopold will match your switch preference better.
MX Black is also pretty quiet for Cherry switch.

The Plum is a good keyboard that's well within the $200 budget, but it's subtly tactile rather than linear, and AFAIK 45g is the heaviest available switch.
You can sometimes find a used Realforce on eBay for under $200. Still tactile, but a great board.

you can easily do a dome swap mod for 20ish $.
to get a 55g or even 62g weights.

Well, I'm going to be different and suggest a Matias Quiet Pro. Yes, it's tactile not linear but it's a really nice typing feel quite unlike Cherry MX "tactile" switches. And it is very quiet (http://matias.ca/quietpro/pc/).

Of course anyMX black switch is just as loud as browns or reds. I say go with blacks and dampen them (which I hate the feel of), try mx silent (very quiet but a bit mushy and scratchy as hell), or go the Matias route.
Cant do topre bc you said heavy. I hated my topre (novatouch) bc it was too light

There are a lot of possible ways to fill in your asterisks, but "Get the Plum, it's magnificent" probably isn't what you had in mind.
I have a Plum84 that I like; it's particularly useful when I want something quiet, light and easily portable. The switches aren't in the same league with genuine Topre, but at roughly half the cost of a Realforce, it's a good buy.

if you want topre switch, find an used RealForce (since your budget is limited).
I have tried Topre Type Heaven and I don't like it (maybe I don't like topre switch in general, not just Topre Type Heaven)
