안녕하세요~
Unicorn Legend is the 4th edition of the Unicorn keyboard. It is designed by one of the founding members of kbdlab.co.kr
It features a 2 piece aluminum housing, with an acrylic diffuser.
(The PCB shown with a breakaway numpad is not for this keyboard. It's for a separate project...)
no word yet on pricing, and the earliest the groupbuy would open is end of April or early May. However, it will be limited to about ~40 units and only available in Korea  :))
Previous versions of the Unicorn (v1-3 used the Orion PCB):

Hi Janbini, welcome to gh.
A few questions
any chance this will be available for gb here? or is this limited to kbdlab only?
What firmware does the pcb use?
-
Seems dubious, but count me interested.

I have 2 very important questions:
1: GB when?
2: are people outside of Korea allowed to enter?

But my wallet is already empty!

1. Soon... (I kno, sorry)
2. It will only be available in Korea (again, sry) :(

So there is no way for me to get one? Damn

You might be able to buy one in the Korean aftermarket, but it will be hard to come by and the websites are all in Korean. :p

Is there any update on this?

man.... too bad :(
this design is awesome

You have to let the Koreans keep some unique designs to themselves.
<MOD EDIT: let's not get racist...>
Some things you need to do without, unless they themselves decide to allow foreigners into their sacred keyboard space.
In a way, some designs should always be 100% Korean owned and worshiped, by them alone.

Not always true although definitely the amount of people trying to flip keyboards has increased which is quite disrespectful to the makers.

sacred keyboard space.

For me the most interesting thing about this isn't even the design per say, but the high chance of a Orion PCB.
Most boards and all TKLs we get here are based on Jigon or Bootmapper Client, and thus the atmega32a microcontroller relying ob V-USB. This solution does not work for me. I need something based on a 32u2 or 32u4.
Don't get me wrong the design is still really cool and all, but without the PCB, I wouldn't be interested, as I've already got a nice TKL, but with a mediocre PCB.

GB has already happened, sorry. Caught me off guard too!

The PCB is compatible with Orion, but the indicator lights wouldn't line up obviously...
Not sure on the controller, some details are being kept pretty tight.. But it has several new features for individual key LED effects, low response time, and a new utility for managing firmware, along with a few other things.

Damn, that was fast. :D
Ah well, it was a fantastic looking board but I've gotten pretty used to missing out on GB's and sales. Too many fantastic artisans and keyboards to chose from these days. :D
-
Nice looking board. Hope it becomes available again. Btw, how much did this go for in the (very) limited GB?
-
I'm not in but very nice keyboard.
-
This looks so nice! Sad it won't be sold outside Korea. :(
-
Maybe we should make an awesome western keyboard and have everyone but Korea have them :))
Sarcasm ofc

we have/had, many many gbs currently and in the past
I just don't get why OP is posting this like it's a gb.

Now don't take it too twisted..
This was not going to be a GB and hence why it was posted under Keyboards section not under IC or GB thread.
OP just wanted to let people know that there is this keyboard out there. :)
No bad intentions mate!

Awww.....that's like titillating my interest and then saying, "No, it's not for you". Regardless, color me interested

So, I managed to get my hands on this board in a trade.
I'm having a bit of difficulty installing the drivers/firmware so that the board will show up in Snow Tools. I can only translate 1/3 pages from Korean to English and that is the Snow Tools page on kbdlab: http://kbdlab.co.kr/index.php?document_srl=4396654&mid=board_sw can't translate the other pages it links to.
I'm pretty sure that the issue is me being confused about where to find the VID/PID to edit as instructed. Using Windows 7 to attempt all this instead of my linux distro.
[attachimg=1]
The original owner never assembled the board and it was NIB. Only ever plugging in the PCB to prove it worked, so they have no information that helps me.
The version is Snow_Tools v2.0.1.103. There are 32 numbers written on a piece of tape on the PCB. The person I traded with told me: "You must keep the 32 digit number for after service".
For the record, I'm actually typing on the board right now, and it all works fine. I simply can't edit anything using Snow Tools because it isn't able to find the device as shown.

[attachimg=3]
Anyone have any suggestions, questions, or familiarity with this board that could point me in the right direction?

Nice board! :)
The long-digit number is an unique S/N for the PCB so that's why you'd want to keep it.
Make sure you can see that the device is installed properly from device manager- I assume this is most likely the case since you can type on it otherwise you might have had an issue with that, too.
To download the key mapping/upload key mapping, Go to Keyboard tab > Set as Default Data > Select Snow-pro UnicornLegend.
If you've done above steps already, I could talk to the GB runner / PCB developer to find out what the issue may be.
PM me if you have any questions.

For some reason unknown to me, when right clicking on Snow_CDC_Driver.inf to install, it wouldn't do anything at all.
In case anyone ever needs the solution to the problem I had:
Going into Device Manager to manually upload Snow_CDC_Driver.inf to the board worked. It now connects to Snow Tools.

INF is just a plain text file with driver info, it's not executable. Glad you got it working :thumb:

If anyone is mad keen to get one of these, U/kevinlim02 on Reddit offered up two of them to me when I was looking for kustoms last week. $750 if anyone likes keyboards more than money.
-
Very nice. I'm sure that they will be impossible to get, and that they will have no iso :'(

It supports ISO

Dang, well, I guess we will likely never see one for sale around here then.

Just a heads up for anyone looking for one of these here is one for sale (https://www.reddit.com/r/mechmarket/comments/b1ye63/cabchduck_unicorn_x_legend_dsa_hana_wpaypal_local/)
