Moderators, if I have placed this in the wrong area, I apologize. Please move it. =)
I was approached by a representative of the Washington Gaming Association to have a booth about mechanical keyboards at their first ever Gaming Expo held at the University of Washington campus. It will be on May 1st. You can look at the event here
https://www.facebook.com/events/1416192791765376/
Basically he was hoping that it would be more of a educational and interactive booth catered towards people unfamiliar with mechanical keyboards. So think anywhere from your gameresque aesthetic to something super high end. Also it will be kind of a "answer questions about mechanical keyboards" deal.
I think this is a great opportunity to put our community out there and get more people interested. I am reaching out to everyone here. Vendors, makers, and also more specifically people located near or in WA state.
Does anyone want to help contribute to this event either through giveaways, man power, showing off high end keyboards, letting people type on different switches, explaining about differences in keyboards, etc etc.
Keynote Speaker is Adam Savage from Mythbusters and other speakers are
Additional Guest Speakers & Panelists: Devin Nash | CEO - Counter Logic Gaming Jason Doctran | CEO - Anxiety Gaming Rudy Delgado | Community Specialist - iBuyPower Bryan McCarthy | Main Tank Overwatch - Counter Logic Gaming Tyler Schrodt | CEO - Electronics Gaming Federation
What I'm looking for
1. Keyboards representative of various Cherry MX/Zealios/Gaterons/MOD Switches. I don't like switch testers as it doesn't really give you that feel. Basically show what is available commercially, and then what is available if you start being more of an enthusiast. People can bring or lend one to me
2. Custom Keyboards. I'll probably bring my whitefox to the event with silent Cherry MX.
3. Keycaps representative of Signature Plastics, GMK, and other keycap manufactures. People can bring or lend to me.
4. Keyboard and/or Keyboard related item giveaway. The more the merrier. I'm thinking of purchasing a Ducky keyboard to give away.
5. Banners, business cards, flyers for other shops to buy mechanical keyboards from. Expect that the only shop people are exposed to is Best Buy.
6. Knowledgeable and patient people to talk to the crowd

I saw that you had commented, I was half expecting you to say "hot taiwanese girls to showcase stuff".

Got a few vendors to back me with a lot of giveaways! If you are reading this, thanks so much!
The event is expected to bring a few thousand people over the course of the day (2pm to 8pm). I still need volunteers to help man the table and talk keyboards.
I even got booth babes! LOL.
