Title: Tactile leg lubing on MX - do or don't?
Post by: asgeirtj on Sun, 16 April 2017, 08:16:20
Do you guys prefer lubing the tactile leg or not?

To my knowledge:
advantages of lubing it: more smoothness(I think the smoothness has an inverse relationship with tactility), more silent switch, disadvantages: less tactility
advantages of not lubing it: more tactility, disadvantages: louder, kind of a "rough" scrachy feeling, it feels like it needs lubrication imo.
is there maybe a best of both worlds: lubing it very lightly?
What is your preference?

I prefer no lube on the legs (some, like zealios, come pre lubed there anyway), just on the sliders and face of the stem. This improves smoothness without sacrificing tactility.

I prefer no lube on the tactile slider (zealios).

MX tactility is mild at best so I would tread with caution doing lubing which affects tactility
