I used to look out the window from my desk. But then I hated that I could see outside (I'm weird), so I move my desk to the wall with the window in my back. The only thing I see now is my screen and the wall. And I like it.
Preferences much anybody? Where do you want your windows?

My work office has no windows

Lucky you. Or, poor you. Depending on you perspective ;-)
Here in the Netherlands, National work policies force companies to have employees sit in spaces with windows.

A few years ago when I worked longer hours I could almost go an entire week without seeing the sun.

I'm on the south edge of an open plan office, next to all the windows. The sun shines directly into my eyeballs from different windows at different times throughout the day, so I have to adjust the blinds every couple hours. Or just leave them all closed.

That's what I hate. When the sun tries to kill your eyes. And I have sensitive eyes.
