Cherry (G80-3000) for one.  I have no facts to back this up but I get the impression that they are struggling to meet demand on Silent MX Reds to even mess around with Silent MX Blacks.  This may make it difficult to supply these to OEMs.

Every respectable modder should own a pcb mounted keybard.

Your logic is flawed.

A respectable modder should know how to solder which makes your PCB mount infatuation a moot point.

But there are other options for PCB mount, especially in 60% sized boards and/or boards with notched plates.

Well, you must do things by steps :-) I've not learnt to solder yet, but I enjoy replacing switches in my g80-3000, going from blues to reds, to reds with uniqey clips.
You must start from something... For a newcomer it would be too difficult to learn to solder, buy a pcb and a case... all this for an hobby that has yet to gain enough space in your life. What alternative would you suggest?

From that perspective it makes sense I guess :P

But I'd still take a G80 type board in a Leopold/Ducky type case any day over cherry's monster case.

I have a switch top removable plate board and a PCB mount board, and a hotswappable switch board. I can attest that modding the switches on those 3 are a lot easier than me desoldering them, and I'm pretty skilled at desoldering...especially with this handy desoldering iron.

If you haven't seen Silent Reds, then they're just MX Black switches with double shot stems to dampen the noise.

Corsair Strafe RGB uses MX Silent Blacks - the exclusivity period ended in December but no one else has really come out with a board of them.

I'm using Silent Blacks and they are amazing, but I'm experiencing ping noise on some of the switches.

I've noticed a couple of my silent reds are starting to ping.

That's odd to me. The MX Blacks in my Filco pinged from the very first time. These ones took a few days.
