Is there any interest in an MX Lock (MX1A-31NN) group buy?
Please Fill Out the Google Form (https://goo.gl/forms/4VOrI6drThiTheob2)
No worries about MOQ.
Pricing should be similar to the last couple rounds which is ~$6/switch plus shipping and fees.
There will be a group buy fee of $1 per order as well as any fees associated with payment methods.
Depending on order size shipping is estimated to be $3.50 First Class or $6.80 Priority Mail in CONUS and International is $6.50 and up (some countries are much higher) , again these are ESTIMATES.
My preference would be to get a vendor involved. (If you're a vendor who's interested PM me.)
Also I realize many people will want to buy 1 single switch but what would be think about a minimum order for 3 switches?
More Info
These switches would be plate mounted.

Isn't the moq for Cherry switches something like 10,000? Seems like that many lock switches would be a high number, though I wouldn't mind a couple

I'd be down for a few, depending on the price.
-
I would be up for some more.
-
I'd be down to buy a few.
Where will you be sourcing the switches from?

An electronics supplier. : thumb:

I'd probably be in for a handful
-
I'm interested in acquiring a few.
-
hmm... interesting
I'm in, probably :)
-
I'd be in for a few, only one or two if they aren't single digit proce though.
-
Willing to join :)
Is it the Grey or White version?
-
Interested in at least a couple.
-
I'm interested for sure.
-
Look interesting... Might take a couple of them.
-
As others, interested in a few, but would probably buy 10-20 just to be sure. :thumb:
-
I'm interested for sure just to have some for my collection. I doubt I'd ever really use them on a board but you never know, I'd be down for 100 probably depending on the pricing. :thumb:
Edit: i take that number back, SpAmRaY just informed me that these will be around $6 a pc! I'm still interested but now knowing a rough price per switch I would say probably for only like 10 or 20.

Down for 20.
-
Sure.
-
Lock me down for a couple :))
-
I'm interested!

I've never used a google form but I'm gonna give it a try :thumb:
Also anyone feel free to share on other keyboard forums. :D

Would these be plate or PCB mounted?

I'd be interested in 1-3 switches, it really depends on shipping cost to Germany. I haven't filled out the form yet as I cant tell at the moment.

Finally! I'm in for 10 pcs.

PM me your address and I'll see if I can get a better estimate if that would help.

I'll buy a few. Not sure what I'd use them for, but they seem fun :)
-
I really want this for a physical toggle function layer.
-
I'd like to own a few, but if they were $6/each I'd have to only get one even if just to own it. That said if there were a minimum order of 3 I'd probably just be out.

Question - I'm assuming the LED doesn't light up when depressed (and then turn off when depressed again)? I'm like 99% sure the LED is still managed by the PCB/programming and theres no mechanical interaction with the locking mechanism. Just wondering!

Led? What are you talking about? It's just a switch.
Oh, and a minimum order amount would be a bad idea.

The PCB controls the LED, also note the LED sits offset and uses 2 pin holes closer to one edge rather than two middle ones, so not every PCB will support the LED.

The switch has a seat for optional LED like any other Cherry switch.

I've gotten ~100 responses on the google form and I'm leaning towards favoring a minimum order of 3 switches and will most likely limit the total number of participants to make things easier to handle.
If this goes as planned it'll come together quickly and be fulfilled quickly. I'm waiting on some confirmations from the supplier I'm dealing with then I'll put together a group buy thread.

Never thought I'd have to rush to buy switches :))
