thought some other keyboard enthusiasts would want to know... plenty to go around.

G81, yuck.

OP joined just to post this.... must be a great deal... *cough*

Only $100 for an MY board! He's practically giving them away!
Remember, this is the switch that has been described not just as "too stiff", not just as being "like typing on wet newspaper", but also "like prodding a dead octopus" (https://deskthority.net/wiki/Cherry_MY). Get yours today before they're gone and some other lucky soul is mushing away on them!

It actually is a pretty good price. I haven't seen a NIB ANSI 1800 set for $100 in ages. Plus a nice, brand new cable.

Exactly what I was thinking... NiB HAU 1800 caps and a nice ass cable? I've got my mouse hovering over that purchase button right now.

I can confirm that these keycaps are 100% usable on an MX board - even the spacebar is using the normal stabs and not the later MY stabs.
Note that the bottom row is 1.5-1.5-7-1.5-1.5

2 left! Mine is coming in on Friday...

OP: Don't take it personally, but most MK people don't esteem Cherry MY switches (https://deskthority.net/wiki/Cherry_MY) as much as Cherry MXs (https://deskthority.net/wiki/Cherry_MX). Unlike MX, which are entirely mechanical, MY is a spring-over-membrane design, so the feeling's entirely different.
Also, while MXs are available in many weights and combinations of clickiness and tactility (or non- thereof), MY switches are all basically the same.
That said, we're always glad when anyone spots something that looks interesting and posts about it here. It's a good way to learn about the various switch technologies, too... So everyone's a winner!

HAU IN THE WORLD DID YOU FIND THAT?!

I'm such a sucker for the caps though... I got two. :-X

All gone. The last one went for $99.99 apparently.

Hmm, seller changed price more times.
I 'm one of first buyers but I can't get best price... I don't like this :(

It alweays surprises me how much people pay for some of these old MY boards.

I'm guessing that most won't use them as keyboards...really just part donors. 1800 boards are popular especially with the Leeku PCB, and new Cherry doubleshots are new Cherry doubleshots, even if they're only in BCD rows. I've been able to find new ones for less than this but that's far and few between. I'd look at it as paying for nice NIB keycaps, the rest of the parts are just so-so.

Yes, I know, but still, that's a lot of money for a bunch of keycaps, even if they're originals.

This is a pretty reasonable price I think. Original cherry quality is better than GMK so NOS cherry keycaps are pretty much the best you can buy. I'd throw the rest of the board into my closet and just keep the keycaps.

A nice box is not a trivial accessory. They can be hard to find with vintage gear.

Very true, the caps and the box is well worth that price. I suppose the cable as well!
-
This is why I snagged 2 while I could

Store owners change their prices all the time (one-day sales, etc.). When items move faster than anticipated, it implies that buyers expected them to be more. So unless the seller's offering the items for promotional purposes, it's natural that they should up the price.

I guess it's possible that some people still see "Cherry" and assume it's a first-class MK. Cherry even makes some RDs, though.
Assuming people do know what they're buying, though, it's all supply and demand, ain't it?
Disclaimer: We're all busy people, but let's face it—sometimes we just have to pause to speculate on the behaviour of sellers and buyers of vintage keyboards. It's who we are. So sue us.

Oh, I also believe it's "motherlode" with an E. A "motherload" means someone's pregnant.

I received mine last week. It's really great.
