Title: VORTEX Core most neutral layout
Post by: mnmlisme on Thu, 27 April 2017, 22:51:58
just got my core and I'm new to all these layer layout. Struggling with the most comfortable layout for layer 1. atm struggling with typing symbols when I need them. only change I did so far on layer 1 is switching the position of Fn1 and Pn, also put backspace to left space button.

is there an app to play with layouts and print it out? something like making a cheat sheet?

I used Easy AVR USB Keyboard Firmware and Keymapper (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=51252.0) a while ago then printed a screenshot for my cheat sheet.

finally got more time to fiddle around more with my core. but key programming confused me. here's what im trying to do:

on layer 1, i want to map Fn1 to my left space bar, but everytime I do this, my Pn got messed up too. can this be done?

layer 1: I don't like the number mapping as well, preferred the default F keys become numbers, but I can't seem to map the numbers to the combination key (pressing Fn1+keys), also, can this be done?

say I've changed the F keys to numbers and want to assign it to another keys, how do I do that? since ive replace the default keys with numbers.

Wish I can help you man, but I don't own the vortex/have no idea how it works. Try rmk or the discord?
