Title: SIIG Minitouch with Monterey switches, new, $99
Post by: ed_avis on Fri, 28 April 2017, 03:07:28

The seller also has a shrinkwrapped new one for a higher price.

Be warned that 'blue cube' and similar USB converters don't necessarily work with this board.  It works plugged into a PS/2 keyboard socket with a simple adaptor, and I expect that a Soarer's converter would handle it.

I can confirm that Soarer's Converter does work with these.

Monterey switches are pretty awesome.  I imagine brand new ones feel quite nice.  Mine are pretty worn.

Are you sure these do in fact have authentic "Monterey Switches" or another simplified Alps copy, using sub standard bits/parts?

Remember there are a lot of differing Alps type switches and many companies that had built them, just would like to know if these are in fact the real deal.

If you want to see the difference between new and worn switches, compare a commonly-used key like E with a less frequent one like Insert.
