Title: DIY Numbpad Kit
Post by: Demo on Sat, 29 April 2017, 05:12:39
At some point (when I can find a kit) I'm gonna build a 96key board. I figure in the mean time I can get a numbpad kit to practice and to have a numbpad in the mean time. I see 3 kits, Satan Pad off Alieexpress which looks good but doesn't seem to be programmable, The Felix from unikeyboard which is programmable but kinda ugly and pricy. Also got a bluetooth one up ob mass drop but it doesn't seem programmable and is pricy. Any other options around? Should I just go for a premade one and if I really wanna mess with it I could de solder and re solder switches to it?

Consider MOZ' SAMpad (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=80949.0), kicad source files are provided so you can add or remove whatever you wish.

Right, then your options are those you listed, unless you can find anything useful here (https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/wiki/numpads#wiki_diy_numpads_and_mediapads).
