Title: Where are all the keyboard modders?
Post by: Encabulator on Mon, 01 May 2017, 19:43:52
I tried to spring swap myself, but I just burned myself really bad and things aren't going my way. In willing to pay people decent rates to mod my keyboard, but everyone seems to have straight up disappeared. Anyone still active who does stuff such as spring swaps, soldering lubing etc. ?

You might be advised to describe what switch types you are using and what specific modifications that you would like to have done.

Also your geographical area is important.

I'll be back in Chicago some time next week and I could help with all of that.

I can kinda solder, I desoldered the switches on my numpad but then tried to desolder the LEDs and failed miserably. I just don't wanna risk breaking a 150+ worth of keyboardage with a 400 degree metal electricity stick. I managed to get the stabilized switches off my pok3r once to clip/lube them. Never doing that again.

Check the artisan services/vendor subforum.

There's a few people kicking around there.

I've already checked there and couldn't find anybody that was active. I sent a few pms but got no responses.

I guess I need to buy a Hakko this summer then.
