Wouldn't say I'm keybored.
I love the hobby still, then again I am fairly new.
Currently waiting on the shipment of an aluminum frame for my VA87M, can't wait to put that together.

Ever since the Ergodox came out..    nothing else has been remotely interesting..

Every new keyboard you guys flutter around amounts to no more than a paint job..  [attachimg=1]

A bit bored of all the MX-related shenanigans here and at r/mk especially. In terms of actual clacking I have enough of a contrast between Zealios at work and ModifiedMatiasClick at home that each is a refreshing change from the other.

Congrats on the HHKB! You've been drooling over that for a while now. It'll be interesting to see if you still believe the hype after using it regularly for a while.

Not necessarily bored as much as frustrated that hot swap hasn't caught on like it should.  I'm waiting for Filco/Vortex/Leopold/Ducky even Varmillo to step into the ring and adopt it.

Varmillo maybe but I doubt it for the rest.

And from what I've read most current hot swap boards have a limited amount of hot swaps.

The ktype kailh hot swaps look pretty sweet though and may lead to easier integration.

In my mind some of the biggest reasons it isn't mainstream is increased cost and the fact once people start swapping switches things get messy warranty wise and the simple fact most users aren't interested in it.

For durability purposes it does depend on how well it is implemented.  But besides that a hot swap keyboard should theoretically be more reliable since it is going through a wave soldering oven once not twice.  Also there is probably savings from letting the end user add the switches should it come "bare bones."

Cost savings can occur due to decrease in permutations of (switch) keyboards that need to be warehoused.  Also additional savings from having the end user easily replace dead switches instead of having to RMA the boards.

Yes Hot Swap may have limited number of swaps but seriously nobody should come close to exceeding that amount.

I guarantee you will swap switches at most twice,  and NEVER EVER bother doing it again.

Im pretty bored with my keyboards... Nothing new for this year. I couldn't afford to build or im not interested in building anything (yet) after i finished my kbd75 with ergo clears and rs68 with 65g zeals...

So many keycaps and new keyboards coming out, and still no progress with my gmk black lotus :(

Stuck in the "no buy zone" as i just graduated college/got unemployed :( oh well

Does anyone else think there is going to be a collapse in the marketplace within the next few years?  It seems fairly saturated at the moment with not a whole lot of innovation.

A collapse? Interesting thought! I hope something changes for the better.

Bored? Quite the opposite. Stuff is getting interesting again, after a few slower years.

I'm thrilled that I'll be finally able to _easily_ get a split-spacebar keyboard, spherical PBT keycaps that aren't DSA, MX-mount damped switches and efficient dampeners, smoother new MX switches (not crappy gaterons), switches with new kinds of tactility (Kailh Speed, Halo)…

Topre/clones and respective mods are progressing too.

When something rather niche goes mainstream, the market gets saturated.

On one hand, this can bring all kinds of interesting new stuff.

On the other, most of the new stuff tends to be cheap and saturates with rather boring stuff. Things get less special, or less appreciated.

I know a few people that bought absolutely terrible "mechanical keyboards" and they think it's top-shelf.

This also happens with other things that go from niche to mainstream, usually via hipsters.
