Title: Modding keyboard - switches swap
Post by: phinix on Wed, 03 May 2017, 10:03:34
I saw some clips on youtube how people open switches without desoldering them.

Would this be a way to swap switches?
If I get Filco with blues, can I buy lets say greens and swap springs and stems by just opening them like on this clip?

Could I do same thing buying Zealios? Could I swap mx blues with Zealios? I would transfer springs stems and top cover. Would this work?

You can only open switches if it is PCB mounted (no plate) or if it has a custom plate with notches cut out to allow the tops to be removed.

Standard Filco or other OEM plates don't allow you to open the switches.
