Title: Does this layout exist?
Post by: ChitownM2 on Wed, 03 May 2017, 12:42:07
Relatively new to the MK game, and I've been searching for a 96 key layout which apparently don't come around very often. In biding my time for lightsaver v3 (which I'll be lucky to get in on) or Kira (which is probably a year away) I began thinking that I really could do without the F row. Basically the same layout as lightsaver but without that top row of keys so you would end up with ~80 keys but you would still have a numpad and arrows so it would be unlike any 75% or 84 key layout that I've come across.

So....does this layout exist and I just haven't found it yet or is this something new?

Yes - commonly known as a 78 key. You should check out rozakiin's UK78 (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=88897).

That's exactly what I'm looking for. Plus it looks like it might actually happen soon which is a huge plus since I think my chances of getting a lightsaver aren't good :).

Are there any other particularly popular 78 key builds from the past that I could seek out on the secondary market?
