Title: What is this IBM PC/XT piece for?
Post by: OldIsNew on Thu, 18 May 2017, 01:46:12
I saw this in an ebay add for an IBM PC/XT. I'm trying  to figure out how it fits with the keyboard - I think the seller is calling it a dust cover but it doesn't really look like one. Has anyone seen this part before? I'm just curious.

a dust cover? it covers like 5% of the keyboard!
i can't find a spot on my XT where that would have a place. i'm thinking the seller might be mistaken and it belongs to a different keyboard?

Either it's for the wrong board, or I'm thinking it may be a slight riser. The 'feet' on that extra part look like the clips that are used for feet, possibly in the back?

That's what I'm thinking - I suspect it just ended up in the box and the seller didn't know what it was either.

I was looking at this as well. I don't think that piece belongs. Definitely a nice board.
