Title: Keyboard Dismantling/Assembly Wikis
Post by: HaaTa on Tue, 23 February 2010, 08:42:49
Inspired by this this  (http://geekhack.org/showpost.php?p=159177&postcount=21)comment to my Gimme back my Big Backspace Gimme back my Big Backspace (http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=Island:8893) mod, I think geekhack needs a database/bunch/crapload of Wikis on how to dismantle various kinds of keyboards.

Some keyboards, like the Model F, are pretty straightforward. But the Model M is a little bit more tricky (you pretty much need a bolt mod afterwards).

Rather than just write 4 wikis for my four keyboards, I thought it would be good to ask for some input from geekhackendrum/fellow keyboard otakus/shameless individuals who view their keyboard porn at work.
(co-workers have already labelled me as a keyboard otaku...not that that's a bad thing)

Proposed Wiki Format

What's Needed (Suggestions?)
I have 4 boards I can write guides on. But I'm sure there are geekhackers who know a lot more about the Model M and F than I do.

If there isn't any general consensus on the title and such, I'll setup a poll.

Ideally these wikis should be descriptive enough, so mod howto posts, can just point to them, rather than having to rewrite the same dismantling guide over and over again.
