Title: Unusual Unicomp On-the-Ball
Post by: Computer-Lab in Basement on Tue, 23 February 2010, 13:33:00
I found this unusual Unicomp On-the-Ball on eBay today:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Unicomp-Model-M-TrackBall-Keyboard-UN20472-Black-434_W0QQitemZ140368159605QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item20ae982375 (http://cgi.ebay.com/Unicomp-Model-M-TrackBall-Keyboard-UN20472-Black-434_W0QQitemZ140368159605QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item20ae982375)

It is a black case with white keys and a white trackball unit.  I found that to be a bit wierd.  It says it is buckling spring, but who knows if they are right about that, I haven't seen too many of these with buckling springs.

These have been shown here before.

My belief is that he created them out of worse condition units, getting the best out of ones he didn't think he could sell as they were.

I like the look of it, and it is also politically correct.  It is an ethnically diverse keyboard.

Check the part number...

And whilst some people have their issues with this seller, I think we can all agree that he knows what a buckling spring is, let's at least give him that much...

That's an agreeable point.

I noticed him selling some of his keyboards for more recently. Right now, there's a 1994 Industrial M he has at $65. But those M5-2's and the beige M4-1's have stayed pretty constant at around $25 to $40.
