Post by: SectorOMEGA on Tue, 23 May 2017, 07:24:58
Hello. A colleague of mine got into the hobby of the mechanical keyboards around mine 60%. He has shown me a PCB on Aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Mechanical-keyboard-hc-keyboarded-translucidus-keyboarded-resin-keyboarded-personality-keyc-for-aps/32679211714.html?ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_1_10152_10065_10151_10068_10136_10157_10137_10060_10138_10155_10062_10156_437_10154_10056_10055_10054_10059_303_100030_100031_10099_100029_10103_100028_10102_10101_10096_10147_10052_10053_10050_10107_10142_10051_10084_10083_10080_10082_10081_10177_10110_519_10111_10112_10113_10114_10180_10183_10182_10185_10184_10078_10079_10073_10186_10123_142,searchweb201603_16,ppcSwitch_4&btsid=e6fae860-f259-4734-bdb0-edc1535b8625&algo_expid=891edff2-8555-49d0-aa35-db2bc18bce3b-3&algo_pvid=891edff2-8555-49d0-aa35-db2bc18bce3b He wants to buy this one, as he thinks it is supporting under glow and single key LED backlight. Does any has an idea if its true? Thank you in advance for your time

Kit 1 and Kit 2 support both while Kit 3 only supports In-Switch LEDs.

Kit 1 and Kit 2 use Bootmapper Client while Kit 3 uses TMK.

So I bought the above PCB and today it came. I'm trying to figure out what standards it is supporting. Next thing is that I forgot to order a plate :( I have ordered one but will have to wait till it will be here. I have everything else to assemble it but is there a way if I assemble everything and after that, I put the plate or I will have to desolder the switches?

Nope, you can't install the plate later. If you want to use a plate it's step 1.

Ok I will really appreciate some help here :D
The PCB was with firmware on it and was working :D I have downloaded bootmapper client and all ok connecting lights etc. But I have pressed the bootloader button and after that nothing. It was not connecting and showing msg: Cannot find HID device or something like this. Tried to set it up as USB, but nothing still the same. This is the first time I'm using bootmapper. did this as I want to see if this pcb is supporting ISO format :)

You can find a very detailed guide for the Boot Mapper Client here (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=58945.0).
