Title: Keyboards similar in style to the TX 1800?
Post by: Mechanical Atom on Tue, 23 May 2017, 10:54:47
Hey guys, so the wifey really wants a TX 1800, however it looks like the chance to buy them doesn't come up to often. When it comes to other options i don't know too much about full size keeb kits. I've tried to do some research but just can't find much else like it.

Basically she wants a retro style case, but something that isn't ALPS based so i can change the switches to something like cherry clears or zealios.

You could try still getting on it: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=88916.0

Otherwise you are very limited with kits, maybe the Peach? But I think that might be too modern, it ended 3 days ago, but maybe you can just ask https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=89358.0

Thanks for the options guys, i really like the Dolch, but she is a die hard for her windows key. So perhaps i'll go with a modern G80-1800 and use that as a base to start modding it.
