Title: Our options for Filco Zero keycap sets (Alps)
Post by: directheatedtriode on Sat, 08 July 2017, 19:47:23
I've done  several searches and figured I would create this thread- I'm wondering what is currently out there for the Filco Zero, as I understand from this thread (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=75694.0) it uses Cherry stabilizers just on the space bar but not on other keys  What a weird setup. I would ideally like to get black keycaps just like the stock Zero.

Currently available that I know of:

Tai Hao double shot ABS- mechanicalkeyboards.com, Massdrop
"Vintage" (are they new old stock they found?) ABS keycaps - mechanicalkeyboards.com - unsure if they sell these separate from the KBP V80

Are there any vintage Alps boards that wouldn't cost a fortune that would be able to serve as a complete donor? I am guessing the answer is a resounding no. I see that SGI Granite (some Dell AT101W) can serve as partial donors, but then you're left with mismatches with the Filco stock caps.

Unknown ETA:

Matias PBT- they have been saying for a year or two that they'd be coming.

you can bend different stab wires for the stabilized keys and use a set made by SP that way (alps mount with mx stabilizer inserts)
