Hey all,
Wanted to share my newest build that I just completed here last week or so. It's a Saber68 that I got from Originative. I bought it with the Heavy Mods which I ended up not liking as they were too heavy. So I opted to rebuild the board completely and make it what I wanted. So now it has been reborn into the following:
- Saber 68 aluminum case
- Cherry MX Green bottom/stem, 24k plated 80g (currently) springs and Mod switch clear tops
- Cherry PCB mount stabs with 24k plated bars from Originative
- 24k plated sip sockets from Zeal
- (currently)1.8mm Green LEDs for mods and 1.8mm White LEDs for Alphas
- Custom cut top plate that has cutouts for switch top removal
Let me know what you think!

Nice!

Very nice board. :D
I'm digging the color choice!

Thanks! I loved the Terminal set the moment I saw it! I'm actually thinking about doing a wood case for it out of African blackwood or ebony next. =3

That would be dope.
There's a low profile 60% case I've got my eye on that I'd like for a 60% board I'm planning on building.
So many things are coming out for 60% boards nowadays it's actually quite cool.
I just need to use it other places than my main computer because that's where I need the arrow cluster. :p

Noice !!

Yeah that's why I love the tada/saber68. You keep the arrow cluster but it's only 1 row wider than a 60%

This may be a very n00b question, but it's also coming from someone who will self-proclaim n00bdom. Is it really worth 24k gold-plated springs? I was always of the understand that gold-plating was mainly for corrosion resistance. Are keyboard environments that caustic?

To be honest I'm sure someone has more information than me. I only got those springs cause that's all they had in stock. There may be some other reasons for it past corrosion prevention. I'm also sure part of it is the looks of sorts. lol For things like the SIP sockets it would give better connectivity I would imagine however.

This looks amazing! Great work man.

Dude, that's a fine-looking board. I particularly like the large down-arrow for Caps Lock. It'd be a witty comment for those of us who waste no time deactivating it whenever we install an OS. :?)

As the name implies, custom. "Custom". You get exactly what you want and I am happy for you that you did! It is pretty snazzy.

Thanks all for the awesome feedback and kind words! It's still a work in progress, I recently got a idle key, Mystery Fugu from ETF and a few other items that I'm going to be adding. =)
