okay i've been screwing around with this long enough to just break down and ask...can anyone start from the begining and tell me how to get firmware uploaded onto a hasu blutooth hhkb controller?
i've tried using the atmel software but that assumes youve used it before. there are also a ton of different recomendations so were i was able to get flip another guide said to use the toolchain but you have to register for that. if anyone has the step by steps and a list of software i'll need to do this i woudl be grateful.
please don't just link me to the guides i've been struggling wit already.

No idea what guides you've already looked at but this is about as step by step as it gets.
The link to the online keymap editor is dead in that article but you can get there from here http://www.tmk-kbd.com/tmk_keyboard/editor/ (http://www.tmk-kbd.com/tmk_keyboard/editor/)

one of my problems is that flip does not launch. i get an error code 2 error and and wont launch.

Man.. I've been too lazy to play around with mine. My HHKB came with a HASU controller but it stopped working after an hour (key presses kinda stopped registering). The previous owner had tried to reprogram it back to default (stock HHKB) config for me before I bought it because he had it customed to a DVORAK layout.
I've been meaning to give it a try and figure it out, but I'm not sure what state the HASU is in right now or if it's just borked. Has anyone seen this happen?

What operating system are you using? What version of Flip did you download? Do you have java installed?
Also have you read through any of this? https://github.com/tmk/tmk_keyboard/wiki#flash-firmware

yes, that was one of the guides i used. my problem here is that i can't get into flip to begin do any sort of flashing. i'm using the latest version of flip 3.4.7 wit the jre that came with that package. im running windows 7 64.

I'm almost certain it's a java issue.
Maybe uninstall and reinstall another version of flip?
Some others with error code 2

For the people having trouble with FLIP, you can also use this:

I've started using that recently and find it simpler than FLIP.
