Title: Micro Center Keyboards
Post by: JP on Wed, 09 August 2017, 14:24:39
I just wanted to share a couple pictures from a recent trip to Micro Center. For those of you who do not know what Micro Center is, it is an American computer department store which sells a wide array of electronics and computer parts.

It was neat walking by this particular area when there were groups of people hacking away. There were many Corsair keyboards with Cherry switches and a full suite of Razer switches featuring their line of switches.

Hot deal right here. That replacement plan looks like a great deal depending how fast you can burn through these keyboards.

They've also had Leopold keyboards in the past at Microcenter.  No offense but those Corsair keyboards and Razer keyboards look gross  :p.

Even if they are gross, it's always cool that they are shown and that you can try them. In France there is only a few keyboard you can test (if there is lol) whereas, here, there is probably every Cherry switch available.

Leopold won't appeal to a mainstream market, sadly :(

My local Micro Center has a switch tester where the keyboards are. It's so convenient.

Went to the Micro Center in Atlanta recently, great store, but I was a little annoyed with the keyboard isle. All the keyboards that were on display for testing were very gamer centric, Razer, Corsair, etc.

They had some other very nice boards on the shelves, including Ducky One TKLs and Coolermasters, but I had to pull them out of the packaging to inspect.

I actually don't think Corsair are too bad looking. Razer are disgusting, however.

TP4 you never agree with anyone unless they agree with you. Oh well. I am into much better boards than at Micro Center but it is a good place to get parts. Now I am running E7 Xeon's so have not been there lately. They stop at like I7 non extreme.

Sadly I mostly seen Razer and Corsair. I still cringe when I think of a friends Razer keyboard. It had a glossy case that would always show fingerprints and grease.

Those glossy Razer boards weren't Cherry MX Blues inside ? Those are not so bad, I mean they are just bad looking, but still a nice thing on the "inside"...
