Title: Keyboard Shipping Boxes 20x10x4
Post by: didjamatic on Thu, 11 March 2010, 22:03:20
Does anyone know of US chain stores that have keyboard sized boxes?

Any of the office stores?  Walmart/Target?  Uhaul?

I've ordered some from an ebayer but I need to ship a couple out now andI'm out of boxes.

Try going to the post office and ask. Clickykeyboards must get their boxes from somewhere (and they sent me a box made by the USPS). So your best bet would be USPS I presume.

I'd try the UPS store, they seem to have a good selection. Or if you ship USPS priority you can get free boxes from their website ;)

I use 22x10x4in boxes, 20x10x4 is a bit tight for 103Us. I get boxes from Uline a few hundred at a time, but this isn't a chain store and might not be available where you're at.

Don't forget the Fragile stickers.  This ensures that your delivery person will dropkick it out of the truck.   Brian might get his boxes from the USPS.

I might still have "Brian's" box, but I am 100% sure it was a USPS box (all decorated with the red/white/blue). I did get one of those printout papers "the one true keyboard", kind of amusing.

The worst that can happen is a few key caps falling off. But sometimes it all depends; all the computers I ordered from the states arrived here in pristine condition. Good thing too.

Can't believe you'd say that about our dedicated delivery folks.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll hit those places today... and that Ace Ventura clip was the first thing I thought of after Ripsters comment.

Uline (http://www.uline.com/BL_403/Flat-Boxes) definitely looks like a great option for mail ordering boxes, thanks Magestouch.

I know, I know. It isn't often you get the opportunity to buy a precious Fujitsu Peerless.

Did you find boxes?

ULINE always seems to be cheaper than retail.

I am going to ask some local box companies when my supply of boxes runs out.  Maybe.  If I decide that it's not worth $0.30 - $0.60 per box to get them next day.

ULINE also has cheaper bubble wrap, styro peanuts than the stores, too.  Evil places charging 2-4x what this stuff should cost.
