Title: {sold} [eBay] Cherry G81-3000 SAV (pricey)
Post by: TalkingTree on Fri, 25 August 2017, 04:08:32
Edit: item was sold.

Never seen this keyboard (http://www.ebay.com/itm/NON-USED-CHERRY-KEYBOARD-G81-3000-SAW-00-RUS-Cyrillic-ENG-Cherry-MY-type-3-/172834577222?hash=item283dbe5b46:g:gvoAAOSwDehZneT0) before.
Made at the very end of 1990, legends are dyesubbed black, cyrillics on the top and latin on the front of the keycap.

Sold new in box but extremely pricey (or overpriced).

Interesting! Are the front legends printed or dye subbed?

They seem dye subbed as well to me.

Anyway it was sold. If a GH member bought it, we might get more info about this keyboard.

Man oh man, 600 pounds for a board with Cherry MYs (a switch not universally admired here)? Okay, NIB, and Cyrillic legends—but it still seems like at least 4 times as much as I'd expect anything like that to go for. Someone obviously wanted it real bad!

Hi there, I bought one of these a few months back, paid almost 400EUR for it.
The seller only sells on ebay.co.uk, and everytime it says "1 in stock".

It looked amazing at first, but the 7U spacebar doesn't fit on my WKL LZ-CLS???
The Alphas were amazing, but the thing is, I was using it for about two weeks, and the top legends started fading away, mainly on the alpha keys "x,c and .". I'll post a picture soon.

My question is: are these supposed to be dyesubs or printed? last time I checked Dyesubs were "extremely difficult to wear out". Or is it the fact that 25 year-old dyesubs can be scratched off by fingernails taps to the point where it is completely faded.
