Has anyone successfully modded this case to fit an fc660c?
https://www.massdrop.com/buy/aluminum-case-for-leopold-fc660m
I know the USB port and Dip switch are in different locations, but isn't the controller connected via a cable? If this is true, technically can't you extend that cable and adjust the positioning to have it fit into the case? Anyway, long story short, I have ordered an FC660C and saw the aluminum case for the "M" but in my excitement  didn't notice this until after ordering it. I may or may not be able to cancel and wanted to know if I had any options on making it work.

The USB connector may not be the only issue, the size is slightly different as well: Hypersphere talks FC660M vs FC660C (https://deskthority.net/review-f45/leopold-fc660c-and-fc660m-side-by-side-comparison-t6443.html)
They bear a close superficial resemblance to each other...
...However, closer inspection reveals that the chocolate-brown FC660C case is slightly larger than the black FC660M case, and the mini-USB connector on the FC660C is located a bit farther to the left of the right side of the keyboard. The location of the DIP switches also differs between the two boards.

The cable on the controller is pretty short and it's got a screw hole where it's supposed to be mounted to the case so I wouldn't count on being able to use that. Might be worth a try, though, just not something I'd want to throw money down for. If you want to pick up a replacement controller you can look here: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=90317.0
It'll mean you don't have to deal with dip switches but also you need to find a place to put it because the button sets it into flashing mode.

Thanks for all the help. Luckily I was able to cancel / return my order. Really wish there was an aluminum cnc case option the "C" as well. Oh well, maybe some will come in the future. :thumb:
