Title: Help identifying keyboards - 6
Post by: RicardoKB on Sat, 09 September 2017, 06:26:40
Hey everybody,
I recently got into the older keyboards and this deal appeared to me  where I can buy 6  keyboards untested for 25euros. I think they are all rubber-domes/rb with slider but one I just can´t find any information about. One of them I know its the sun type 6. If you need more pics just ask me
Would appreciate some help, sry if this is the wrong thread but it's my first time posting here.

Thanks a lot

Front right is BTC, probably 51X9, possibly 5149. Probably sliders over rubber dome over PCB.

Centre left looks very Key Tronic rubber dome to me; I don't know the exact model but it's rubber dome over membrane I assume. I've seen those strange clips around the LED overlay before, but I forget where — the front left one has the same clips.

The bottom right one looks like a BTC board cause of the 1.25 Escape key. Could be BTC Domes or Foam and Foil.

  • Sun, as already identified
  • Silitek-made; the FCC ID starts GYUR, which implies rubber dome (GYU = Silitek, R = prefix found on some Silitek rubber dome keyboards, e.g. Dell AT101R)
  • Pass; FCC grantee is HP, so that doesn't indicate the OEM; likely rubber dome
  • Key Tronic E03600 family (https://deskthority.net/wiki/Key_Tronic_E03600_family) — being E03601, yours should have Asian layout but it doesn't!
  • That's front-left, which is Key Tronic — off-hand I don't know what it is, but probably rubber dome, or foam and foil at best
  • BTC 51X9 series (https://deskthority.net/wiki/BTC_51X9_series) as suspected

So basically, nothing adding value to it... the seller doesnt know if  they work, would it be worth picking for 15/20 euros? U know, for collection purposes... haha

You're always welcome to document them for the wiki — someone has to eventually.

Those BTC keyboards are among Chyros's favourites, while I have one and the rubber's gone so hard it's no longer usable. The rest, a combination of personal preference and rubber condition. Rubber domes as they come out of the factory, and as they are found after years of use and storage, are two different things!

I'll try to pick them up for cheap for the community, i guess. Pretty afraid of buying 6 dead boards but oh well gotta take some risks

Thanks for the help. No but seriously, thank you.
