Title: New keyboard for allround usage, Varmilo VA69M or Topre Realforce 88UB?
Post by: Benjamin on Thu, 14 September 2017, 11:51:51
Hello!

Considering a new keyboard, budgetwise I am thinking about if topre is actually worth it. Heard very nice things about topre, fantastic for writing and gaming.

The 88UB has 45g.

What would you guys pick? There is a difference @ around 70 dollars between these.

To be honest I like Topre and Cherry for different reasons.  If it's your first keyboard I'd suggest going Cherry route (Varmilo) since it's more "different" than rubber dome.

I also like Cherry better for gaming, and if you want to get custom keycaps later it's also easier.  But typing wise Topre feels nicer for my preference, gaming wise Topre feels too slow.

The thing with Topre is that it just feels "comfortable" to type on while Cherry might be more "fun".

Haha sorry if this makes your choice harder.  :P
