In light of the recent family obligations that jchan has that are causing a brief hiatus from adding new business to www.keyclack.com, Designer kingnestea approached us and asked if it would be possible to run the US portion of Maxkey Lime through our new storefront: https://kono.store (https://kono.store). We are pleased to announce that the group buy window is now open as of today on Kono, and that we are excited to be running our first keycap group buy for a community member.

The full set is priced at $99 USD and shipping is auto-calculated based on your address.

This will be the first set produced and shipped with Maxkey's new tooling that fixes and adjusts many of their legend issues in previous sets.

It will be a Doubleshot ABS SA Profile keycap set with a glossy finish.

We anticipate beginning production in October with the several hundred other keycap sets from the EU / Asia group buy, receiving the finished product in November, and fulfilling on December 10th.

The keycaps will be shipped in trays, included in the price.

For some background as to why we are doing this, as many of you know we (Input Club) recently completed a large Kickstarter for the WhiteFox Mechanical Keyboard. In order to produce and ship the thousands of keyboards requested, we have scaled up a very effective and organized shipping and fulfillment operation. We are currently in production for the WhiteFox, and when we were approached by kingnestea as a possible group buy location for Lime, we all agreed that it would be an excellent fit. It also helped that Maxkey Lime is a beautiful set and looks excellent on a WhiteFox!

In short, Kono.store is now very able to handle complex keyboard and keycap orders, and we will be doing more fun and interesting things in the near future. If you like this sort of thing, please let us know what we can do to build and improve it, as this is our first run at doing this. That shouldn't be interpreted as us being inexperienced, as I have coordinated over 1000 group buys, just not through Kono!

Wait, is it different from previous maxkey sets? I heard they were a little bit more matte than signature plastics semi-matte SA, is that correct?

They are actually going to be glossy, not matte as well. I will post updates in this thread when I receive samples.

We may over-order a bit though so that we can quickly bring it back online.

Yea I'm just wondering except Grey case what else could go well with this set. Would cyan case go well with the set?

Post by: lekashman on Mon, 30 October 2017, 18:49:50: Cyan would no doubt be very refreshing with Lime. Metallic or wooden colors accent well with green and grey, and a light blue metal case is definitely within that category.

Black looks good because of high contrast, but I think silver is the optimal choice.

This is of course, just my opinion!

Post by: lekashman on Wed, 22 November 2017, 20:06:19: All orders for Maxkey Lime have been placed, production should begin shortly. This is later than we would have liked, which means we are going to be pushing the delivery date to early January. Everyone who participated in the buy has been emailed and notified of this.

Another update will be posted when manufacturing has been completed and the keycap sets are en route to our US fulfillment center.
