Title: NovaTouch Escape Key not registering
Post by: funkybeat7 on Fri, 22 September 2017, 21:00:33
Hi Everyone,

I came into possession of a "new to me" novatouch yesterday and got to try it out today, everything works great and I love it except the escape key doesn't seem to register. I have tried it on two seperate PC's so I believe it may be the board. The previous owner has seemed to have taken the board apart as there is a hole in the Manufacturer sticker where there is a screw so I'm not sure if I can send it in for warranty repair. Does anyone have any sugggestions that may help me?

Thanks for reading this, have a nice evening!

Alright, so every key except the escape key and the "Fn" key is registering in Switch Hitter, what might a next possible step be? Thanks for any help I appreciate it!

Fn doesnt send a scancode so it won't show up in the switch hitter.

for me, I would take it apart and look for damage in the area. If it's been taken apart already it could be missing the conical spring under the done which would prevent actuation.

Okay, I did end up taking it apart to reseat the springs but it didn't fix anything. I will take it apart again tomorrow and look more closely at the area. Is there any way to see if it would actuate while the board is taken apart? I'm not very experienced with Topre boards so thank you for helping!
