Voyager's main Theme, Easily best Trek Theme..
It's very straight forward, you hear it and you think, space is big, possibly lonely..

best space music

Also:
Season 4 was too rushed..
People say season 3 was worst, but I like season 3 because of ample Tpol scenes.

Season 4 was really tragic, I can't believe they cancelled it, yet Friends lasted 300000000000000 seasons.

Oh. Someone deserves to be put over the knee and spanked for posting that horrible Enterprise music ...
Now, listen to some space music with class:
That show had several great themes, such as this one (https://youtu.be/Ivub9Q1ndxk?t=33s), and this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wvHuY_u6yg).

That hideous theme song was partly the cause of me not giving the show a chance. Plus, the awkward rub-down scene in ep1.

Space 1999 theme. Look no further :thumb:

I love that theme. It was so silly when they yielded to the Trek Nazis who thought it wasn't strident enough, and turned it into a dance tune.

At first I thought, 'Uhh... why is Rod Stewart singing in a Star Trek theme song?', but it started to grow on me after a while.

This is seriously one of my favourite songs--Desert Rain by Tim Clark, from the album Tales of the Sun People. The album borders on space music...more fantasy, really. There are a few tracks that I literally listen to daily.
-
I really like the royalty-free music produced by Teknoaxe. I used several of these in the game I made a few years ago, and it fit the sci-fi/space theme well.

Came here expecting something like drone (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dronology) or its new-age derivative (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_music).

I love me some new-age derivative! It's a prerequisite to working in the planetarium industry. :p
Speaking of drone--have you heard Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians? To the untrained listener it comes off as electronics-derived drone but it's actually performed by 18 musicians playing acoustic instruments. The metallophone is used as a cue for movement changes. Devote an hour and 1/2 to headphone time and check it out. [I wasn't sure if you're "for" or "against" drone or space music by your comment so, I just assumed "for".

I had the extraordinary good fortune to see it performed live, and it was perhaps the most wonderful musical experience of my lifetime.
Here is a place to find the mother lode of "space" music:

 Holy Chrysler! When did you get to see 18 Musicians?? I had the extreme thrill of seeing Philip Glass perform with a solo violinist (whose name escapes me right now) in a small venue. It was quite surreal, really. I've also had the unparalleled pleasure of meeting Jonn Serrie at a planetarium conference a few years ago and we've been hanging out at every conference since.
I'm very familiar with Hearts of Space. We have a local program in FL called Echos which offers similar music.

Dr. Octagon. Hands down.

When did you get to see 18 Musicians?
At the Big Ears festival, of course. The previous night they had done "Drumming".
Reich was the artist-in-residence in 2014 and Glass in 2016.
