Title: Coq au vin
Post by: iLLucionist on Mon, 09 October 2017, 17:18:20
iLLucionist likes to cook. Just discovered "coq au vin" or "chicken in wine".

Basically, you take some random veggies (carrots, onion, leaks), put them with some thyme, rosemary, and garlic in a pan. Put the chicken parts in with tons of wine, cognac, and chicken stock and reduce it till you have this awesome taste.

It really tastes like nothing else.

I have made it with Quorn. It has a texture somewhat similar to chicken. Contains egg white though so not vegan.

I suppose you could make it with soy filets as well. The dry ones that you hydrate yourself are not expensive.

Sounds similar to my version of beef stew ><'

I sometimes use a malbec for deglazing stewing, some times i use whiskey..

I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BOOZE.

It's more of a whirlwind relationship :p

That movie where that girl supposedly has a blogpost where she posts the results of cooking one of julias recipes every day was really entertaining, forgot how it was named.

I actually have Julia's cookbooks. Let me summarize it for you: butter, wine, cognac, milk, cream, and flour, and butter.
