So I'm shopping around for my first mechanical keyboard and I think I'm gonna go with an 87 key WASD. Thinking about going with a keycap-less purchase if i can find a cheaper keyset. I found this on ebay and it looks too good to be true, or am i missing something. Based on my searching, finding doubleshot PBT is kinda rare, especially at a price like this. What am i missing?

They're thin junk backlit caps from China and in an odd layout with that big enter key.

A scam in the vein that the caps are probably no better if not worse than stock caps on any old gaming KB.

This whole hobby is a scam. I've spent $$$$$ on what amounts to plastic and a few aluminum blocks here and there. But I can't stop!!!! :D
In all seriousness, keyboards and accessories are all starting to get really cheap. You can buy a $20 on Amazon right now. In most cases, you do get what you pay for.

They're likely just really low quality, thin caps. I'd hold out for something else and maybe check a couple other sites for some dyesub or doubleshot caps.

I have the set in white.
Spamaray is wrong, they come with both ISO and ANSI Enter/backslash. So you can use it on any ANSI board just fine.
They are very thin doubleshot PBT. I generally like the sound of thin caps but even so, these are pretty meh. I'll stick with my EpicGear ABS, thanks.
But you can get the white set for around $8 AUD, so if you're doing a cheap-as-possible build or something, these will be just what you need. Or you can spend a bit extra and get the YMD PBT blanks.

PBT is quite brittle, right? I would imagine that really thin PBT would not stand up to much heavy typing
