Work is giving me a choice - Lenovo Yoga 370 or ThinkPad T470. Which should I choose?

I am kinda skewed towards the T470 mainly because 14", dual battery but the Yoga has touch screen and looks kinda cool.
I am not sure if their keyboards are of the same stuff though. I'd prefer the old Thinkpad keyboards. Do they make the same keyboards these days?

I had a similar choice and I took the T because of the docking connector, I cannot be happier, my current setup includes docking stations at home and at work and I can start working in seconds, I just snap the laptop onto the docking and all my peripherals are working immediately, including my beloved sixty keyboards. If you do not work in a desktop configuration this point is irrelevant, but in my case it makes all the difference.

Get the T470p with Quad Corez.
It was on sale not too long ago.
with the 2560x1440 i think it was only $1300
-
Oh! one more thing: My T has a dedicated graphics card, that makes it pretty fast for most of my work and it can run multiple monitors with easy.

the 940mx isn't much better than the integrated.. benches about the same
But it does get more fps in dota..

I think this is just 1080p and Quad Core.. are you sure? Unfortunately what we have is just the Core i5-7600U.

I don't use a docking station, so unfortunately, that is not advantageous for me..
But dedicated gfx is very KEY.. the website I linked above is just using intel HD 620.. how come you have a dedicated gfx? Jealous!

Yes the T470 "P"
has the quad core 7700hq option.. It's SUPER FAST.. way faster than the regular T470
It's only slightly thicker...
and there's the 2560x1440 option for $100 extra
Total $1300

Don’t think I get to choose the P type. There’s just a standard Core i5-7600U, take it or leave it.

Why buy new thinkpads when you could get a t420 and be gg good to go

Sorry, I meant that it was company issue - which means a standard configuration already - it's not like I get to shop what I wanted.

well at least ask if they got one with the 1080p IPS and 940mx gpu
I believe it can handle at least 32gb of ram.. so u can upgrade that on your own, and pull it out when you return the laptop after you quit and start your own underground brothel in inner cities..

Great call on the upgrading own memory, tp. That is what I intend to do as well !

Whenever you work in IT, your best friend is the guy who handles hardware acquisition and appropriation ..
He is the one that gives people iph0nez and better speced laptops w/ IPS and m0ar SSDs.

I am TORN BETWEEN these two beauties! I also prefer T470. Big screens are good for watching Netflix. :D

Do Lenovo still ship laptops with virus/malware in the firmware?

Turned out my colleague told me I could go for a Mac as well and the company issued me a MacBook Pro, which is SUPER COOL... and then I found out that there is no USB port and so my mech keyboards cannot attach to it... whatttttt ...

Wait, they've now removed plain ol' USB ports from the Pro line? Whaaa?

Yes. Totally stupid. Need a dongle. The lower end Pro has two USB-C port. The higher end has FOUR USB-C port. Why would anyone need 4 of the same ports???

Oh you mean USB-C. There are USB-C to USB mini cables though, right? I guess it's a bit annoying when everything most have is still the old USB cables.
