Title: How do you control keyboard lighting on a custom keyboard?
Post by: razzlesama on Tue, 24 October 2017, 00:56:26
Hi. As the title says, i'm wondering if the lighting on custom keyboards are controlled with the keys on the board or if there is any software to use for that purpose.

PS - I'm not really sure if i posted this in the correct place. If not, please be kind enough to move it. :)

depends on the keyboard

some use QMK to control lights, others are more complicated

my kbd75 has the lighting controls on an FN layer

My DZ 60 is programmed with QMK.  The default setup had all the LED controls (both underglow and backlight) controlled by keys on Fn layer 1.  I moved all that to layer 2, and then set up Fn-L to switch to layer 2, and Esc to switch back to layer 0, it was easy.
