Never tried it, but here it is (http://www.meritline.com/usb-to-ps2-adapter---p-37294.aspx?source=nl100319&hq_e=el&hq_m=1928752&hq_l=76&hq_v=bd842bad2c)

I would want to hear first from another Geekhack member if it works properly or not. Some of the problems described in this thread (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=9219)seem to slip by most people's notice, so it's hard to tell what you've got until you actually buy it.

I have six of these that arrived last week, but haven't tried them out yet. Will report back in a couple of days.

I just got an adapter, an annoying $9 shipped, that was both a disappointment and a surprise.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812101117
The disappointment is that it has the issue where if you're playing a game and are holding W, then press Q or E or space it stops sending W. So I thought I'd just wasted $10.
But then I tried it with my Model M, and it works perfectly! So no problem at all there, and I can still use two keyboards.

I ordered one of the $2.50 dual adapters, will post when I receive it.

Post your find to the wiki (remember to get a vendor ID). I'm curious as to why the adapter wasn't an issue with your IBM, but it was for other boards. What board did you use that you had the issue with?
-
It still has the protocol issue with the IBM; I was surprised it worked at all, as from what I've heard a great many adapters won't work the Model M at all since the M draws more power than they're designed for.
I've tried it with the two keyboards in my sig; Model M 1391401 and Cherry G84-4100PPAUS.
How do I get a vendor ID?
Anyway, the protocol issue isn't a problem when it comes to typing, so it's fine with the Model M. It just makes gaming with a keyboard through the adapter near impossible.
-
Nevermind, updated it. It's already on there as VendorID: 13ba ProductID: 0017. It's the same as in the pic but with a spiffier housing and a light on the USB port when it's active.
-
Yeah. I have two 13ba adapters and both have the same issue. They all look different. It's impossible to tell which vendor made them until you test them out. I'll probably update the wiki to mention this problem once I hear back from elbowglue regarding the vendor of his bad adapters (http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=9219).

My adaptor that was shaped like a rocket ship is this Vid_13ba pid 0017
The squid shaped one is already in the trash, it stopped working after a while.. don't know it's vid

Actually
PS2 to USB Converter (sold under various brands: Sabrent, Cablestar, Cables Unlimited, plus others. Also known as the Bytecc BT-2000. Several websites sell it without specifying a brand name at all.)
Yet another adapter based on the same Chesen Electronics chip.
The picture doesn't show it clearly, but the electronics are molded into the translucent gray USB connector end, and the cables have a metallic look, due to clear plastic over the foil ground shield.
Reported to have "PS/2 reset" issues (keyboard won't accept keypresses for a few seconds, LEDs flash).
Bytec-2000. That's mine. But it has the 13ba VendorID. ?????

The rocket ship adapter is also in the wiki under a different VID. I'm not quite sure what to make of this.
