(I've brightened up the photos somewhat.)

With regular used XTs going for $125–140 now, this extra-clean example—with all 4 original cork feet, yay!—seemed like a good deal at $99 + free US shipping.

That said, I remember when these could be had for $30, not very long ago at all... Then people found out how fun they were. Oh well, the more general interest in vintage MKs the better, I suppose!

I like the texture on the plate, what paint is that?

I painted it with self etching primer, Rustoleum Satin Black and a non glossy clear coat (I forget which product this was now). The texture effect was accidental. I did 4 plates which turned out semi textured and 2 which turned out untextured. The first time I sprayed, it was at a further distance which produced a thinner coat with the textured appearance.

Nice, but topic drift, IMHO.

Sorry about that. I was just shocked as you mention that used vanilla XT's are going for $125–140 now. That's too much into AT territory it seems.

Aw, I was just givin' you a hard time... We're always drifting off into parallel stuff here. It's yewmorous.

You're entirely right about the recent XT pricing phenomenon. It started right around the time Chyros posted his rave review of them (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_qA5OZFJ1I) on YouTube, and the general attitude toward them has apparently changed from "How would I use that goofy layout?" to "I need to have one of those, despite the goofy layout."

Huh, this XT ended up selling for $89.99, $10 under asking. Either I failed to notice that it said Make an Offer, or the seller lowered it.

On occasion I will ask sellers if they would take less or offer a price. I have been fairly successful with this strategy. Possibly the seller reduced the price in response to an inquiry. $90 seems like a good price for these in nice shape now days.

Also I will admit that I have been swayed by Chyros' awesome reviews.

And who can blame you? You know how some people have a certain quality so much that there's a photo of them next to the dictionary definition? There's a photo of Chyros next to "sublime":

Well, it's his hand, actually; the rest of him wasn't available.
