Title: A pair of "ruggedized" Intermec keyboards(parts grade)
Post by: sethstorm on Sun, 21 March 2010, 19:18:29
From the same vendor that had the "parts grade M13":
A pair of for-parts Intermec keyboards (http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Intermec-Rugged-Keyboards-850-551-004-009-Prts-Rpr_W0QQitemZ370348910476QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCA_Mice_Trackballs?hash=item563a83e78c)

If they're rubber dome and not worth the mention, I didn't know.

Just one of the more odd finds I saw.

Who on earth would pay $50 for two broken keyboards?

They don't say how they're broken.  I would agree if it was major physical damage or if it was an ordinary rubber dome.  If they're fixed w/ a board swap or some trivial fix, it's fine by me.  I just happen to have a lower threshold of accepting parts.

Given how broken black M13's, Filcos and black double shots are in this community, that's not exactly a question that can be easily answered.  How else do we (correctly/inexpensively) fix up some boards w/o donors?

They sell for over $300 new so somebody might want 'em for parts:

They appear to be for in-vehicle computers, probably for police and first responders.

Also, there's a reason for the "Make Offer" button.

Interesting that the store's slogan is "do it yourself and save" with the GH implication that you could save a bit more by fixing a broken one.
