That's a good price.  I might get another, but I would want a white one the second go 'round.

I'm watching it. Seem a bit high for a year-old keyboard.

I'd like white as well.

According to the seller, it wasn't used much.  It seems to be the case, too, looking at the keys and their lack of shininess.  I think it would be worth the cash.  Anyone looking to get one for almost $75 off should jump on it.  I might have if I had the cash.

Pretty much.  $175-ish is one thing, but $30 more pushes it too close to brand new.

This is nuts. So someone is going to save like 10% and get a used keyboard with no warranty. If you bought one and sold it after two weeks you couldn't sell it for much more than this...

The upshot of this is that these boards retain their value quite well. Makes spending the money on one much easier to handle.

Hm if it goes for $210 + shipping, thats not that bad compared to $254 + tax (in california it adds up to about $275) + shipping.   Thats like $222 vs $285.  Maybe 22% off retail.

Also elitekeyboards will only do repairs in warranty, no returns.  And most people probably think the capacitative switching nature of the hhkb makes it unlikely to fail within the first year.

Now do the domes change in feeling over time thats another question all together..

And from an eBay seller with only three feedback points.

An unfortunate truth to eBay is that not all bidders allow themselves to be tied down by insignificant things such as actually paying for what they bid on. Some people just like the feeling of winning an auction and don't even bother paying because they don't care about the item itself. I'm an eBay seller, and because of these people, it actually makes me nervous when my auction does significantly better than I expected.

That's two more than the winning bidder, and three more than another bidder who bumped the price up. :suspicious:

I'm a long time ebay buyer/seller and I had contacted the seller about the board.   Based on what I've read here on Geekhack, I decided I'm better off getting a Realforce since several people have had issues getting accustomed to the layout of the HHKB2.

I feel MUCH more comfortable bidding on ebay items when the seller takes the time to answer questions.

The seller is a NICE guy and I'm positive he's legit.   No worries if the winning bidder is also legit.

It's best to be philosophical on ebay. I've been lucky and got some great bargains. I've never been screwed and only bought one item that went on to develop a fault quickly. My attitude now is that I can afford to take a few risks. Even if they turn sour I'll be 'in profit' overall. And when you take risks on low feedback sellers you can get insane bargains. So think long term and you can't go wrong.
