Title: Manufacture's Kits
Post by: HotRoderX on Wed, 22 November 2017, 01:11:58
I wonder why Manufacture's don't make kits for some of there more popular boards. Are just kits in general. I mean I would think it be cheap and economical. Then it would give us the choice of what switches to use. I know personally I love to see the following board's in kit form.

Leopold FC660M
Varmilo VA68M
Vortex ViBE
Vortex Race 3

to name a few. The main reason is I want to be able to choice my own switches with out the hassle of desoldering

warranty/liability issues

and i suspect there aren't that many people who want to build their own keyboards compared to the number that wants to just buy one and be done

Not only that, but there's a growing number of people out there who are typing madly away without taking the time to learn to use the English language very well, and the keeb manufacturers don't want to encourage them.

IIRC, Varmilo allows you to do such. Some members reached out to their representative here and ask for customization or a kit.
