Title: Wireless Mechanicals
Post by: WTFGoD on Tue, 05 December 2017, 09:54:17
I don't follow the keyboard scene, are these a thing yet?

I saw logitech release their version a little while ago which caught my attention, but I need an 87 key, 110 is a few too many. The price could also use a lot of work, not that you guys are aware of prices when it comes to your keyboards. I've been waiting for an affordable wireless mechanical for a while now to replace my current setup. The market for wireless mechanicals seems to be really underdeveloped compared to their dome counterparts. Everything seems to be either expensive, has missing/limited keys, comes with chinese keyloggers, non-replaceable batteries, etc.

Are there any keyboards in this space that are up to par without coming with a huge premium?

Ideal Specs:
    AA battery power
    87 Key
    Blue Switch
    Well < $100

Examples:

    Logitech - $150 - 110~Key

    Generic - $38 - 60~Key

    Drevo - $60 - 70~Key

Those RK61 cheapy keyboards look fun... Probably the same sort of cheapness as my K63c, but they look pretty funky... Supposedly I can pair it to my phone and laptop so quick texts can be hammered out...

The only wireless 87 key mechanical keyboard I'd suggest is Filco Convertible 2 TKL.

Bookmarked this one, thanks. Have you seen any reviews on it?

Varmilo VB87. But it doesnt take aa batteries.

Do your due diligence on how strong Bluetooth is on different boards on different systems. Some BT is horrible. Some are rock solid. For me, the bt 4.0 on Varmilos are most dependable. And can be nabbed on ebay for far less than retail.
