Which one are you?
The Nerd, Geek or Dork test - OkCupid (http://www.okcupid.com/tests/the-nerd-geek-or-dork-test).

I am supposed to be a Pure Nerd (http://www.okcupid.com/quizzy/results?quizzyid=9935030990046738815&userid=2318360962045434848)

Amongst my group of friends "nerd" would be considered a term of endearment, although I would consider myself a geek because I'm not as much a social retard as someone who has obsessive interests in rather odd things.

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored less than half in all three, earning you the title of: Joe Normal.
Your results: 9 % Nerd, 22% Geek, 35% Dork

It says I am normal.  Good. I was worried for a minute.

Well I'm sorta obsessive.
Social ineptitude, nope.
Intelligent, never checked.

Where's the chillin' circle?

They say I'm "Joe Normal". However, there was one question that I had trouble with.

51.
Describe your relationships to new electronics/gadgets.

I'm always on the cutting edge; if I don't own it right away, at least I know about it and it's on my wish list.

I try to keep myself current, but I don't obsess about it and don't know all of the particulars.

I tend to be slightly behind the times/don't know about all of the latest equipment.

Where's the option for being stone age with no cable TV, no computers made within the past 6 years, and no cars made in the 21st century?

Your case suggests that it is time to get with the millennium here and get some modern technology.

It's actually an Easter egg in the test. It looked at your IP address and saw that you're from Texas and automatically awarded you a secret level.

dang. I think I am a geek, hopefully not the pencil necked variety.

geek

A technically oriented person. It has typically implied a "nerdy" or "weird" personality, someone with limited social skills who likes to tinker with scientific or high-tech projects. The origin of the term dates back to the late 1800s. A geek was a carnival performer who bit off the head of a chicken or was part of a freak show.

Nerds however don't procreate. This is a good thing.

Pure nerd...

I personally always classified myself as "geek with attitude" so I agree with Ripster.

You guys do realize that anyone that actually TAKES the poll is a Nerd by definition?

A very good point, but this test tells you how much of a nerd you are, that is if you can't figure that out for yourself.
