So I am browsing modern alps switches, and I have given matias a shot, but there are a few others I would like to try, and I want some opinions.
The two I am looking at are white Fukka switches, and green ducky xm switches. Has anyone given these a shot, and if so, what are your opinions of them?
There is also the tao-hao xm switches, but I don't feel too confident about them.

They are both quite crap imo. Too stiff, very clunky, don't sound good, ping like mad. I would honestly take MX Blues over them.
If you are interested in a modern Alps board then Matias are the way to go.

That's unfortunate. Thanks for saving me the disappointment. I have tried cloned simplified alps that were too stiff, and they were unusable, and if the XM switches are like those(Hua-Jie AK), then no thank you.

Ducky Green XM are horrid IMO. They're not as stiff as some other ALPS-derived switches, sure, but, between the lighter weight, the high activation point, and the heinous wobble, I found them basically un-typeable-- random extra letters everywhere. And I say this as someone who generally prefers ALPS-style switches over MX-style.

What modern board exists with Fukka switches? I thought they were discontinued in 2012.

AFAIK, you can't buy new keyboards with fukka switches. I found them for sell second hand, as well as one with ducky green, but I passed on them.

I think 2012 is still pretty modern...

though they aren't made anymore I think there is a big cache of them or something. you can buy brand new boards with them.

New old stock. I don't think these have been manufactured for a while, as others have pointed out. I assume there is a reason there's a lot of new old stock?

^--That is the fukka keyboard I was looking into. But if it suffers from stiff alps clone syndrome, I don't want it.
It looks like the one I found for $50 second hand sold already. Now that I think about it, I probably could of used it as a donor if I hated the switch, but meh.

SKBM/Fukka Alps is awful. Bump/click is in the wrong place and the weighting is annoing. You have to type at a very specific angle for it to be tolerable.
I haven't personally tried Tai-Hao APC switches but they are all very meh from what I have heard. Linears are scratchy and inconsistent, the blues have a greatly varying sound, and the greens are just too heavy to the point of becoming a meme.
Matias switches are lovely, I would personally just stick with those if you want modern Alps-compatible switches. If you want to try something new though, you can probably find a cheap AT101 with some salmon Alps or a IIGS board with oranges for cheap. In fact, a few of the latter were available on TaoBao for fairly cheap, but I think my friend bought the last one.

I recently had chance to try out a Fukka at a keyboard event, and it was pretty good. They had two different Fukkas there for people to try. I tried the first Fukka, but its keys were a bit stiff. So then I went to try the other Fukka. But someone had taken it.
"Where is that Fukka?" I asked.
"Oh, some guy borrowed that Fukka!" came the reply.
So I take ages trying to track down the Fukka. I searched for the Fukka here, I searched for the Fukka there. Eventually I manage to track down the guy with the Fukka, and asked him, "What Fukka have you got there?"
"What this?" he replied, "this fukker has Cherry Reds."
(yes, I know that was childish but I couldn't resist)
